Super Simple Slipper Sox. . .
This slipper works up super fast because its knit with 2 strands of yarn held together on a large needle. And it feels so cushy and comfy on your tootsies.
Give it a try. I think you'll really like it.
- 2 skeins DK Weight yarn in Color(s) of choice.
I mixed a dusty blue and blue Ragg together.
- One set of 5, Size 10 dpns.
- Tapestry Needle
GAUGE: 4 sts and 5 rows = 1"
SIZE: Small Adult
The pattern stitch is a series of K2,P2 for 3 rounds, knit a round, then reversed
P2,K2 for 3 rounds. This creates a very elastic cushy texture, which is just what
you want for slippers. It also creates an interesting checkerboard pattern.
NOTE: Knit with 2 strands of yarn throughout.
Cast on 32 stitches. Divide stitches evenly placing 8 stitches on each of 4 dpns.
Join, being careful not to twist yarn.

With separate needle, #1 Needle: pick up 7 stitches along left side of heel. With another separate needle, #2 Needle: knit the first 8 stitchs off the holder following RND 3 in pattern. With another separate needle, #3 Needle: knit the remaining 8 stitches off the holder continuing the RND 3 of pattern. With another separate needle, #4 Needle: pick up 7 stitches along other side of heel, and knit half the stitches from #1 needle onto #4 needle. [there should now be the same number of stitches on #1 and #4 needles and 8 stitches each on #2 and #3 needles]. Knit one complete round, now following Pattern RND 4, on the #2 and #3 Needles
BEGIN GUSSET DECREASE:
#1 Needle; Knit to last two stitches on needle, K2tog.
#2 and #3 Needles, knit in Pattern.
#4 Needle; Slip 1, K1, passo, knit remainder of stitches.
Next RND: Knit even.
Repeat these two rounds until you have 32 stitches.
Continue to knit in pattern [Knit all stitches on #1 and #4 Needles. Knit in Pattern RNDS on #2 and #3 Needles]. Knit until approx. 2" from desired length of foot. End on a RND 10 of Pattern.
BEGIN TOE DECREASE:
#1 Needle; Knit to last 2 stitches, K2tog.
#2 Needle; Slip 1, K1, psso, knit to end of needle.
#3 Needle; Knit to last 2 stitches, K2tog.
#4 Needle; Slip 1, K1, psso, knit to end of needle.
Decrease every round til 2 stitches remain on each needle. Cut yarn, put tail thru tapestry needle, then thread thru all stitches, draw tightly, and tie off.
NOTE:I decreased every round because I wanted a short blunt toe. If you prefer a more pointed toe, decrease every other row.
With 2 strands together, crochet a chain approx. 18" long [or length desired]. Thread Tie through ankle of slipper if desired. Tie a knot at each end to prevent unraveling.
