Here's our brand new fur-baby. His name is WINSTON and
he's only 7 weeks old. He weighs in at a "whopping" one pound
and is a bundle of wiggly joy. LOL
He's a CAVACHI, which is a cross between a Cavalier
Spaniel and a Chihuahua. He's going to be very small, maybe 7 lbs
tops. He reminds us of a miniture Golden Lab, only with a short
little crinkly nose.
He has the sweetest disposition and his favorite past time is
chewing. Everything!! He has his own room, and feels quite the
king of his castle. We are having the time of our lives getting
to know him. He and I bonded on sight. Instant Mom and
Dave is now a combo of "Daddy/Buddy".
The past couple of months have been a whirlwind for us. Our
son got married rather unexpectantly. A total surprise. We only had
a few hour's warning. But, it turned out wonderful, and I promise
to get pictures posted one of these days. I keep juggling my
schedule and it seems like my computer time has to take a back
seat to a zillion other matters.
Winston's taking a nap, so I grabbed the opportunity to update
my blog. Or at least start on it. ((Grin))
Oops!! I hear Winston. He's awake and needing some quality
time dedicated to "potty traning". He's worse than a new-born
baby, but worth every single minute. Oh my!! I've fallen completely
head-over-heels madly in love with the litle guy.

It was just July. I blink my eyes a few times, and it's September
already. Autumn is nipping at our heels, and I haven't even finished
my Spring cleaning yet. Yikes!!
Spring done sprung and summer just slid right on by me and left me in the dust. And I do
mean DUST!! And in all those nasty little places where
we all fear to tread. Like the back of the fridge and stove. under
the bed, or those dark recesses in our closets, or... well,
you get the idea. UGH!!
I spent the latter part of spring and much of the summer sulking and
nursing an early summer cold. I finally get over that, start my late
spring cleaning, when WHAM!! I go and injure
my wrist. And of course it had to be the right wrist, the one I favor.
Needless to say, spring cleaning came to a screeching halt, and I went
back to sulking. The wrist is finally feeling good enough to type without
leaving me in total agony. So here I am. Updating my blog, which has
been sadly and embarrassingly neglected. Well, from the get-go, I never
promised myself I'd be faithfully keeping my blog current, but I also
didn't think I'd do this badly either. Ahh well....
I used 100% wool worsted weight yarn I purchased from Meg Swanson about
two or three lifetimes ago. It's been so long, I can't remember. If I'd
made it a tad larger, I could felt it. But it turned out the exact size I wanted,
so I'll just be careful and wash it by hand.
Oh, by the way... I've just discovered Strawberry Cheesequake Blizzards
at DQ (Dairy Queen) and I am so head-over-heels in love with em. I'm
sure they've been around for ages, but I just found em. I guess I really do need
to get out more don't I??

Anything new is scary. Especially for me. I've never liked
change. I take after my Dad. He hated change. I guess that's why he still
had the same old rocker he'd had for well over 30 years when
he passed away in February. Way past the point of worn out yes, but... oh so comfortable.
Like my favorite pair of shoes.
I have a closet full of new shoes, but I'll grab that
old comfortable pair 9 times outta 10. They should've been thrown out years ago,
but I just can't bring myself to part with them. Sound familiar??
You know, you dream all your life, well most of your adult working life,
of the day you get to retire. But now that I've finally reached the time to retire,
it's....well.... it's kinda SCARY!!
Gosh, where did the time go, I ask myself?? Seems like only yesterday I was just a kid
playing in the snow peppering my brother with snowballs. Now here I am, retired of all
things. Yikes!!
If you take the time to visit my blog archives, you'll notice right off that I haven't
made an entry since March. Shame on me I know, but "life" became way to
busy to keep up. Both my personal life and job became hectic during April and May.
Then, unfortunately, my health suffered this past month. But hopefully, now that I'm
retired, I'll be able to keep up with it and make entries on a semi-regular basis.
However, I'm not making any promises... either to myself or to you. (Grin)
Now mind you, I'm not that scared about retirement. LOL!!
I plan on getting a lot of knitting done... and designing patterns... and
napping too, which happens to be one of my favorite hobbies. AND... I thoroughly
enjoy reading blogs. If you have a blog, share it with me. I'd love to read it
and add it to my blog list.
Good grief!! Look at the time. I've worked right through my morning nap. Well,
I'll just take two naps this afternoon to make up for it.
