HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
I'm so excited about actually making it through the holidays.
There were a few times I had my doubts I'll admit. But lo n' behold, here
I am. LOL
I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Mine was extra spiffy. As
usual, I ate too much, and gained too many pounds, which I now
have to work off. UGH!! But there's one thing I'll never get
too much of. That's family love. And I am blessed with
plenty of that.
I wore these all day Christmas and the family laughed their
sides off. I had a real problem keeping my toes inside the sock toes,
so they'd flop around whenever I moved.
By the end of the day, the tops had slid down around my
ankles and the toes had moved way on down past my real toes
and hung off my feet. So whenever I walked I looked like
"Big Bird" when he clomps around. LOL
In case you can't read what's on the socks, it says "Don't Bug
Me" with the "me" written on each toe. Of course there's
ladybugs everywhere too, so they're perfect for me.
It's a very small coin purse. And I do mean small. It's
just big enough to carry your license, credit cards or a small
cell phone.
It was fun to make and easy. Just the kind I can handle.
The yarn is Lion Brand Fancy Fur "Pretty In Pink"
and I'm totally in love!! It's super soft, fluffy
and warm. Thee perfect yarn for a scarf.
I'm using Size 13 needles, with 12 stitches cast on, and
knitting all rows. I've used up one complete skein, and
what you see so far measures 3 1/2" wide by 22" long. I'm
planninng on adding at least another full skein.. and
maybe more. I'll see how it goes.
Writing about it has me chomping at the bit to knit a few
more rows, so I'll take that as my cue to wind things up
here. With lots of luck, I just might find enough extra
time to update my blog tomorrow. WOW!! What a concept...eh?

I'm just terrible about finishing up my projects. I start
one, get bored with it, stash it away promising myself
Anyhoo, I got determined a couple of weeks ago, and decided
to finish up as many as possible. The little bag you see
above is actually a small cozy that covers a plastic bag
It's made with Lion Brand "Fiesta" yarn. So soft and
squishy. Perfect scarf yarn for these chilly winter days. It's
roughly 46" long. The gloves are not knitted. I purchased them
and added the trim from the yarn used for the scarf
I used Lion Brand Landscape on size
10 needles. This yarn is Ooh so plush and thick.
Excellent for a bag. And those colors will go with
almost anything in your wardrobe. LUV IT!! I like
the way the beads sparkle and make it very festive
for the holidays.
For the past several years I've knit socks almost
exclusively, but lately I feel the need to use up
all those fun yarns in my stash that aren't suitable
for socks. Plus...I enjoy making bags not only
because they're fun, but easy to knit. No
Heels!! LOL
On a sad note, we had to return
And myself.. well I'm now content
to let my
And speaking of knitting and teddy bears, the bears mentioned
they they all want new sweaters for Christmas. Yeah Right!! I told them
that I wanted a million dollars. Oddly enough, they're not being
very friendly today.
