MINI SOX by Soxie

MATERIALS:
Small amount DK weight yarn.
I used OnLine Paloma Konfetti #9940 as main color and about 16 inches of contrast for bow.
Set of Five Size 3 dpns
1 Marker
1 small jingle bell, optional.

SOCK SIZE: End of toe to heel is approx. 2- 1/2". Total length approx. 3-1/4". Cuff length is 1-1/2".

PATTERN:
Cast on 24 stitches. Divide equally on 4 needles putting 6 stitches on each needle. Join, careful not to twist, and knit one complete round. Work a K2,
P2 ribbing for approx 1 1/2 inches (or desired length). Then knit all stitches around for 5 rounds.

HEEL:
Knit the next 12 stitches from two needles onto one needle, Place Marker
in center of stitches between the 6th and 7th stitch. Place remaining 12
stitches on stitch holder. Turn.
WS: sl 1, Purl across 11 heel stitches. Turn.
sl 1, K1 across all heel stitches. Turn.
Repeat these two rows for 8 rows, end working a purl row.

TURNING HEEL:
NOTE: my heel turning is a bit unusual, so feel free to use the heel turning you're
most comfortable with.
sl 1, Knit all stitches to marker and 1 stitch past marker, K1, sl 1, K1, psso,
K1, Turn.
sl 1, Purl all stitches to marker and 1 stitch past marker, P2tog, P1, Turn.
Repeat these two rows til all stitches are worked. End with a purl row.

GUSSETS:
With a separate needle, #1 Needle; pick up 5 stitches along right side of
heel flap; with another separate needle; #2 Needle: knit the first 6 stitches
from stitch holder; with a separate needle, #3 Needle, knit remaining 6
stitches from stitch holder; with another separate needle, #4 Needle, pick
up 5 stitches along other side of heel flap and knit half the heel stitches
onto #4 Needle. Place remaining half of heel stitches onto #1 Needle and
knit one complete round on all needles.

BEGIN DECREASE
Knit to 3 stitches from end of #1 Needle, K2tog, K1. Knit all stitches to beginning of #4 Needle; K1, sl 1, K1, psso, knit remaining stitches on
needle. Knit all stitches for one complete round.
Repeat these two rounds until you have the same amount of stitches as
cast on (24).

FOOT:
Knit in rounds for approx 3/4 inch more (or length as desired).

TOE:
Work to last 3 stitches at end of #1 needle, K2tog, K1. #2 Needle: K1, sl 1,
K1, psso. Continue to knit to last 3 stitches on #3 needle; K2tog, K1. #4 Needle; K1, sl 1, K1, psso. Repeat these instructions decreasing every
round until 8 stitches remain. Cut yarn leaving 8 inch tail. With tapestry needle, thread yarn tail through remaining 8 stitches, pull tightly, tie off. Weave in all ends.

BOW:
Both Bow and/or bell is optional. Cut approx 16" length of contrasting color
yarn. Double over and thread through front center of cuff. Thread through
bell, tie on, then tie into small bow. Tie knots at ends of bow - trim excess.
