I-CORD TOP ON SOXIE'S CAP: OPTIONAL
Instructions are for all three caps. Cast on 104 stitches,
divide stitches evenly and place
on 4 dpns. Join yarn to form
circle being careful not to twist stitches. Work a K2, P2
ribbing
for 3 inches. Then knit all rounds for 4 more inches.
ROUND 1: *Knit 11, K2tog. Place marker to indicate decrease.
Repeat from * around.
ROUND 2: Knit all stitches around.
ROUND 3: *Knit to 2 sts before marker, K2tog. Repeat from * around.
ROUND 4: Repeat Round 2.
Repeat Rounds 3 and 4 until 6 stitches remain.
Cut yarn leaving a 10 inch tail. Thread yarn tail into
tapestry needle. Sew thru remaining
6 stitches; pull yarn
tightly and tie off. Weave in yarn ends.
When you have the 6 sts remaining, DO NOT CUT YARN.
Instead; using 2 dpns, put remaining 6 stitches on one dpn.
Knit I-Cord: With free dpn, knit
those 6 stitches; slide those 6 sts to beg of needle and
work sts from same position.
Bring yarn around from back
and rep from * until I-cord is approx. 2-1/2 inches long or
desired length to tie into a knot.
Bind off and knot as shown.
Weave in yarn.
